Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared the year 2026 as a season of victory, prosperity, and renewed civic responsibility, while urging residents of the state to embrace electoral vigilance and activism ahead of the upcoming governorship election.

In his New Year message released through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke thanked God for the achievements of 2025 despite what he described as externally induced constraints faced by the state. He expressed optimism that 2026 would mark a turning point for Osun, with a renewed commitment to good governance and democratic consolidation.

“As we step into this defining year, I call on our people to rise in defence of democracy and constitutional rights,” Adeleke stated. “We must pray against any plot to destabilize Osun and ensure a free, fair, and peaceful electoral process.”

The governor warned against attempts by unnamed forces to sow chaos ahead of the August 2026 governorship election, stating that “election is not war, but a democratic right of the people.” He emphasized that those allegedly inflicting hardship on Osun residents as a political tool would be rejected at the polls.

Governor Adeleke vowed to secure re-election based on his performance, asserting that his administration has delivered visible results across sectors. “I am confident of victory in no fewer than 28 out of 30 local governments,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to service delivery and called on citizens to ensure their votes count.
