The Federal Government has asked a Canadian Federal Court to retract what it described as the erroneous designation of some political parties in Nigeria as “terrorist organizations.”
The demand is linked to a case involving Nigerian national Douglas Egharevba, who arrived in Canada in September 2017 and applied for inland refugee status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada.
In a statement issued by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Government described the classification as baseless.
