The name of Jesus Christ has become a name that Christians call at any time without attaching a purpose to the call. As Hebrews 13:8 records, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever,” therefore the name is always available to grant dominion.
Pastor Shola Omojuwa, Resident Pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners), Oke-Onitea, Òṣogbo, made this statement during the Covenant Day of Enough is Enough Sunday service held on 31st August 2025, which also doubled as the monthly end-of-the-month thanksgiving.
Ministering on the topic “Walking in Dominion Over Sickness and Disease” in line with the August prophetic focus themed “I will restore health unto you” – Jeremiah 30:17, Pastor Sola Omojuwa in the first service emphasised that dominion for Christians means to be fruitful, multiply, and subdue what has overpowered others.
He stated that Enough is Enough means Christians taking charge of their lives from the thief (John 10:10) and entering into the dominion that the existence of Christ has given us as believers. He added that the name of Jesus is the name above every other name and that the name of Jesus is highly exalted, as recorded in Philippians 2:9–11.
Pastor Shola further stated that another weapon to have dominion over sickness and disease is the name of Jesus, describing it as a kingdom mystery through which the Holy Spirit performs operations in the life of the believer. He explained that according to God’s agenda, we are to have dominion over sickness and disease, as recorded in Genesis 1:26–28.
Meanwhile, in the second service, Pastor David Popoola, State Pastor of Living Faith Church, explained what is in the name of Jesus Christ that makes it heal. He itemised the following: the authority to bring into manifestation what a believer decrees; it also brings wholeness, as recorded in Acts 3:16; the application of the name of Jesus establishes; it is a wonder-working name and a miracle-compelling name, as recorded in Acts 4:9–10.
Pastor Popoola noted that not everyone has the name of Jesus Christ as a refuge and not everyone has access to the power in the name of Jesus. He said that the way to gain access to the name of Jesus is firstly by being born again, accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour, valuing the name of Jesus, mentioning the name at the right time, recognising that there is wonder in the name of Jesus as recorded in Acts 9:34, having faith in the name of Jesus, and understanding that the name of Jesus Christ is given to the body of Christ as recorded in Acts 3:6.
Furthermore, he reminded the congregation to hold steadfast to the five weapons for dominion over sickness and disease, which are: the weapon of God’s word, the weapon of the anointing oil, the weapon of the communion table, the weapon of the mantle, and the weapon of the name of Jesus Christ.
