President Bola Tinubu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election conducted across Osun State.
Tinubu secured 100,880 votes in the exercise, defeating his opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo, who recorded zero votes.
The result was announced on Saturday in Osogbo by the Osun State collation officer and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.
Oyetola commended party members for what he described as the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise across the state.
He disclosed that the APC has 109,806 digitally registered members in Osun State, adding that 100,880 members were accredited and participated in the primary election.
The minister subsequently declared Tinubu as the winner of the presidential primary election in the state.
Oyetola also urged members of the ruling party to remain united and committed ahead of future electoral contests.
According to him, the party would require sacrifice, unity and sustained mobilisation as it prepares for the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
He further stated that the conduct of the exercise reflected the APC’s commitment to democratic principles, internal unity and transparent processes.
The minister added that the peaceful exercise witnessed across the 30 local government areas of Osun State, including the Ife East Area Office, demonstrated the strength and cohesion within the party.
