The Nigerian gospel music community has been thrown into mourning following the death of renowned gospel artiste, Taiwo Adegbodu, one half of the popular Adegbodu Twins.

The sad news broke on Sunday after his twin brother and ministry partner, Kehinde Adegbodu, announced the development in an emotional message shared on social media.

In the grief-laden post, Kehinde expressed deep anguish over the sudden loss of his brother, describing it as a painful and overwhelming experience. He lamented the void left behind, not only in their family but also in the gospel ministry they built together over the years.

The Adegbodu Twins were widely respected in gospel circles for their spirited worship sessions, coordinated stage performances and impactful ministrations. Their music resonated strongly with congregations across Nigeria, particularly in the South-West, where they maintained a strong following.

Colleagues, church leaders and fans have begun paying tributes, celebrating Taiwo’s dedication to spreading the gospel through music and his contribution to the growth of contemporary worship in the country.

As of the time of this report, the cause of his death has not been made public. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
