Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, has disclosed the gruesome murder of a housewife, Esther Enemor, allegedly by her husband, Ekene Enemor, in Egbejila community, Ilorin.
According to the CP, a vigilant neighbour, Ahmed Salman, raised the alarm after noticing a suspicious individual locking the Enemors’ house while Esther was reportedly inside.
When questioned, the stranger claimed to be the younger brother of Ekene, who resides with his family in Moshe Gada village.
Unsatisfied with the explanation, Salman knocked on the door but received no response. He then noticed bloodstains on the fence and wall, prompting him to alert other neighbours.
A search of the premises, police said, led to the shocking discovery of Esther’s mutilated body, dismembered from the neck to the waist, with the head and arms missing.
Further search efforts uncovered additional body parts, from the waist to the thigh, hidden under a culvert, also without legs.
Police investigations led to the arrest of Ekene Enemor, who confessed to killing his wife.
“The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation,” Ojo said.
He revealed that Ekene, who sustained a leg wound, later died in the hospital after receiving threats and warnings from his children and other relatives never to return home for masterminding the killing.
