Osun State Tech community is gradually growing big as another milestone in the 5-Point Agenda of the Imole Administration is achieved, as Osun youths will begin to boldly compete globally.

Hon. Bankole Omishore, special adviser to the governor on SDG and multi-lateral relations made this statement while delivering his goodwill message at the opening ceremony of the first cohort of FREE Digital Skills Trainings held at the SDG State Centre, Dagbolu, Ikirun.

Recall that the SDG Office under the Government of Governor Ademola Adeleke, led by the Special Adviser on SDG and multi-lateral relations, Bamikole Omishore, released the link for registration of interested applicants for the upcoming FREE Digital Skills Trainings.

Hon. Bamikole declared the training open with the kickstart of two impactful trainings — Front-End Development and UI/UX Design — which are now running concurrently at the SDG Centre in Dagbolu, empowering young talents with digital skills to drive innovation and sustainable development.

Meanwhile, in an interview with the Special Adviser on SDG, Bamikole Omishore, he stated that the goal is to create an avenue for people in Osun State to earn and compete globally. He added that the success of the training will be measured by the number of participants that can secure jobs after the training, as discussions are already ongoing with different organisations locally, nationally, and internationally that have signified interest in hiring fresh talents.

According to him, “the training process began with submission of applications, whereby 1,456 people applied by filling out a form. A total of 50 participants were picked for the first cohort, based on early application and proximity to the training venue” .

“This training is fulfilling one of the 5-Point Agenda of the IMOLE Administration. The 5-Point Agenda of the IMOLE Administration are workers’ welfare, salaries, gratuities, and pensions; boosting the state economy by business partnering and support for the business class; Osun money serving Osun people through homegrown infrastructure policy; people-focused social policy through skill-based education, affordable healthcare, state security, and social security support — which this training is set to achieve; and agro-based industrialisation for wealth and job creation for youths and women”.

This training is in partnership with Skill Afrika and the SDG Office under the Government of Governor Ademola Adeleke, marking the launch of the first cohort of FREE Digital Skills Trainings.
