The way the staff of office is to an Ọba and the stethoscope to a medical doctor, so is the prophetic mantle to a prophet. It is an instrument for believers to overcome sickness and disease whereby activating the weapon called the prophetic mantle, resulting in living a life of dominion over sickness and disease.
Pastor David Popoola, State Pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners), Oke-Onitea, Òṣogbo, made this statement during the Sunday service held on 24th August 2025, tagged “Special Mantle Impartation Service”, Acts 19:11.
Ministering on the topic “Walking in Dominion Over Sickness and Disease”, in line with the August prophetic focus titled “I Will Restore Health Unto You” – Jeremiah 30:17, Pastor David Popoola warned that Christians of today should not take prophets as ordinary people. He stressed that any material prayed upon by a prophet carries the infilling of the prophet.
Emphasising how the prophetic mantle empowers us to have dominion over sickness and disease, he cited Psalm 133:1-3, urging that desiring the power in the mantle will make the anointing on it empower a believer to live in dominion. He explained that it is a believer’s responsibility to tell God why He must do what he desire – Isaiah 41:17-21.
He added that the mantle is not magic; it becomes whatever you call it, as it is only a medium to tap into the grace and anointing carried upon a prophet – 2 Corinthians 12:12.
He explained further that God can use whatever method He decides to perform a miracle, as in Matthew 14:34-36, where even an ordinary shadow healed the sick and raised the oppressed.
Similarly, in the second service, Pastor Sola Omojuwa dwelt more on what the prophetic mantle carries. He stated that the prophetic mantle brings healing, stirs up spiritual gifts, empowers for growth, serves as a medium for the transfer of virtue, and delivers constant and immediate miracles that end every flow of stagnation.
Furthermore, Pastor Popoola stated that to enjoy the benefits of the prophetic mantle, a believer must first believe in the prophet’s ministry, have a sense of value for what the prophet declares – Hebrews 5:1-4, recognise that the carrier occupies a higher place by election or grace selection – Matthew 10:41, honour the carrier in your mind, and crave the flow just as Elisha craved the double portion of Elijah’s power – 2 Kings 5:15.
The dominion of the saints over sickness and disease is unquestionable – Daniel 7:27, 1 John 5:4-5. This means that as children of light, you are to have dominion over everything that overcomes the children of darkness. The situation and its after-effects are not your portion; you are empowered as an overcomer.
