In a move to accommodate the spiritual and religious obligations of its workforce, the Yobe State Government has announced a temporary adjustment of official working hours for the duration of the Holy month of Ramadan.

The directive, issued through the Office of the Head of Service and signed by Deputy Director of Information, Alhassan Sule Mamudo, stipulates that public service operations will now run from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the working day will end at 12:00pm.

Mamudo emphasised that the revised schedule is strictly for the period of Ramadan, with normal working hours to resume immediately upon the conclusion of the fasting month.

The adjustment, a yearly tradition in Yobe State, is intended to allow public servants to engage fully in religious observances and community activities during the fasting period. State officials have consistently highlighted the importance of balancing work commitments with spiritual practices, underscoring the government’s commitment to employee welfare and religious inclusivity.
