President Bola Tinubu has said that Nigerians who fail to see any positive development in his administration would be provided with eyeglasses to improve their vision.

Speaking at a function held at the State House on Thursday, April 16, the President defended the performance of his government, insisting that his administration is making progress across key sectors of the country.

Tinubu stated that his leadership is a continuation of the previous administration, noting that he shares a political and ideological alignment with the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. He explained that, in that sense, his government should not be viewed as entirely separate from the past administration.

The President further acknowledged that governance comes with challenges, stressing that any shortcomings encountered should be addressed with a sense of responsibility rather than denial. He emphasized the importance of correcting mistakes and moving forward in the interest of national development.

He also admitted that the journey of governance is not an easy one, adding that those working alongside him must remain committed despite the difficulties. According to him, his administration is focused on delivering results that Nigerians will ultimately appreciate.

Tinubu reiterated his “Renewed Hope” agenda, noting that his government is investing in infrastructure, education, and economic growth. He maintained that visible improvements are being made in road construction, human capital development, and the overall economy.

The President noted that for those who still refuse to acknowledge these achievements, his administration would provide eyeglasses to help them see the progress being made.

He said, “‘’The truth is I took over from myself. The late Buhari is me, he was a partner. If I took over from him, is that not from myself? If something is wrong, live with it, correct it and then move on. The live voyage is not going to be easy and so many of you travelling with me, I can only stand by you and say you will not regret it. That is why I asked you to ‘Renew their hope’’ If they don’t want to see the hope in the roads we build, the children we raise, in the economy we are growing, we will give them eyeglasses”
