The Joint Labour Movement, comprising, Joint Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and Nigeria Labour Congress has pledged their total support for the second term bid of the Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, has urged residents of the state to shun voter apathy and actively participate in the 2026 governorship election to secure victory for the reelection of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
This is just as a lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Adeyemi Adewumi, IREKANDU vowed to deliver 20,000 votes for Adeleke in the LGA.
The Speaker, Egbedun, speaking at the rally tagged “Walk to Win for Imole 2.0” held in solidarity support for Adeleke in Odo-Otin local government areas of Osun State, noted that the reelection of Adeleke is sure because of the people-oriented government he adopted.
They made the decision during a sensitization programme held at the Assembly’s Pavilion.
The Union said Osun workers have been enjoying remarkable welfare policies by the present administration ranging from payments of backlogs of half salaries, implementation of minimum wage, infrastructural developments across the length and breadth of the State among others.
In his address of welcome,
Chairman, Parliamentary Association Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, Alhaji Akeem Adesina lauded the commitment of members for turning out en masse.
Also in separate remarks,
President, National Union of Local Government Employee, Dr. Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, Chairman, Joint National Congress, Mr. Olalekan Adediran, Chairman, Trade Union Congress, Mr.Abimbola Fasasi and the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Christopher Arapasopo urged members of the various unions to mobilize massively and reciprocate the good gesture of the Governor by returning him to the office.
The Union leaders appealed to their members to moblize twenty-five people each to vote for the return of the incumbent Governor.
Responding, The Speaker, Prince Adewale Egbedun who was represented by Prince Adewumi Adeyemi expressed appreciation to the union leaders and members.
Prince Egbedun described them as a formidable force and encouraged the members to be prepared for the election, cast thier vote for the preferred candidate without intimidation.
Highlight of the event was Special prayers for the success of the Governorship election scheduled for 15th August.
The Event had in attendance; Legislators, Clerk of the House, Mr Akinwale Amusan, Heads of the House of Assembly Service Commission, members of different labour unions among others.
